Three common mistakes we usually make when washing our hair

Should I wash my hair after every workout, is it okay to apply conditioner on my scalp and should I clean my hairbrush? We’re addressing 3 common questions and mistakes that many of us make.

1. We wash our hair incorrectly and too irregularly

Many people forget that grease, dirt and product residues accumulate on the scalp. Therefore, it’s extra important to clean your scalp when washing your hair! The trick is to mainly focus on washing your scalp as this will result in the rest of your hair being cleaned as well. Wash your hair by massaging the shampoo into your scalp until it ladders. Then rinse your hair thoroughly, making sure that it’s properly cleaned.

It’s extra important to wash your hair and scalp properly after exercising as harmful bacteria otherwise will accumulate in the sweat. Sweaty and unwashed hair can lead to persistent problems with itching and dandruff, therefore it’s important to wash your hair after every workout. Although, make sure that you choose deep cleansing haircare products that are gentle on your hair and scalp to ensure that you don’t dry them out. 2. We use conditioners and hair masks in the wrong way

Did you know that 1 in 4 Swedes experience issues with their scalp and that the majority concern problems linked to dryness? In worse case a dry scalp can lead to hair loss as the blood supply to the hair follicles is affected. Therefore, it’s only a myth that you shouldn’t use conditioner on the scalp and it’s in fact important to use moisturizing conditioner there. For this reason, our products are specially developed to be used on the scalp without straining the hair or making it oily.

A common mistake that many people make is that they start using hair masks when their hair is already damaged and dry. The trick is to start using hair masks when the hair is still healthy as this will help you maintain a strong and beautiful looking hair.

3. We use dirty hairbrushes in newly washed hair

When was the last time you cleaned your hairbrush? A common mistake that many people make is forgetting to regularly wash their hairbrush which leads to dirt accumulating in the hair quickly again. A tip is to clean your hairbrush at least once a week to better keep your hair fresh and maintain that newly washed feeling longer.
