Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

For the first time since the pandemic started, it was finally time for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in January 2022. In connection with this, Björn Axén was asked to create the hairstyles for the French haute couture designer Stéphane Rolland's fashion show. A show that later was praised for Stéphane's creations and the beautiful hairs that enhanced his collection.

̶ We got to know Stéphane Rolland a few years ago and started talking about a potential collaboration, but the pandemic came in between and put our plans on hold. Now that Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week is finally back, we are of course thrilled and very proud that Stéphane chose us to make the models hairs for his show, says Johan Hellström, owner and CEO of Björn Axén.

Stéphane Rolland's collections are characterized by elegant and organic shapes. The haute couture designer has a classical design language to which the hairdressers at Björn Axén have created beautiful hairstyles emphasizing Stéphane's creations.

̶ We aspired to emphasize the models' femininity, creating elegant looks that was in line with Stéphane´s design language. Our focus was on soft, round shapes, without sharp interruptions. Fine-tuned organic forms that, like Stéphane's design language, brings out the individual who wears them. Although, our hair did not steal any attention. Instead, it enhanced the model, her beauty and femininity, says Peter Hägelstam, owner of Björn Axén.

̶ Stéphane's collections are elegant and classic, but at the same time very futuristic. He wanted the models' hairs to match his organic design language, but with an extraterrestrial look. The result was a chignon unlike any other we have ever created before. A neck knot, which in an almost extraterrestrial way, floated out from the models' necks. It took a lot of practice and even more hairspray to succeed, what we created was even more beautiful than expected and we are really pleased with our achievement, Johan Hellström concludes.
