Improve the health of your hair - five factors that affect your hair

Do you dream of strong and healthy hair? You are not alone! A lot of people dream of getting the perfect volume and the right products are of course an important part, but it is not the whole solution. The health of the hair is also affected by a number of other factors, both external and internal. We have listed five different factors that affect your hair health and simple tricks on how to avoid them.

1.SUN DAMAGE

Just like the skin, the hair can get damaged from being out in the sun without protection. Overexposure to the sun's UV rays can damage the outer layer of hair and make it brittle and dry. Therefore, it is important to always use UV protection when you are out in the sun for a long time. Protecting your hair from the sun also helps to preserve the color and prevent it from fading from the sun. Our Heat Styling Protection contains UV protection that protects effectively from the sun's rays. Spray both the lengths and the scalp for the best protection. In addition to UV protection, you can also cover your hair with a hat or scarf.

2.FRICTION OF BRUSHES AND HAIR BANDS

The hair is fragile and breakage can happen regardless of hair quality or hair type. It is especially common for people who bleach or color their hair to experience some form of hair loss where the hair strands break or fall off. Make sure to be kind and gentle with your hair whenever you can. For example, only brush the hair when it is wet with a brush designed for that purpose, such as our Wet Hair Brush. Always start brushing your hair at the ends, then work from the roots. Using tassels can also wear on the hair because the hair strands are stretched and can break off if you have a tassel in the same place. If you always put your hair up in the same hairstyle, a simple trick is to switch between a high and low ponytail or try different types of braids to create variety. Also choose hair bands that are gentle on the hair, for example in silk.

3.TIME BETWEEN HAIR WASHES

How often you need to wash your hair is very individual and depends a lot on lifestyle, for example if you workout often or if you use a lot of styling products. However, washing your hair too infrequently can lead to several problems for both your hair and scalp. The scalp produces natural oils that help keep the hair and scalp healthy, and if you wait too long between washes, these oils can build up and mix with other pollutants, which can lead to a build-up of dirt and oil. If you have a sensitive scalp that is easily irritated by washing your hair often, we recommend our Scalp range, which soothes and balances the oil production in the scalp and protects the scalp from impurities. Also, be sure to always apply conditioner to the scalp to moisturize after shampooing.

4.HEAT STYLING TOOLS

The use of heat styling tools can affect the health of the hair in several ways. Tools with high heat levels can cause damage to the outer layer of the hair and lead to problems such as split ends. Styling tools also remove moisture from the hair, which can result in dry and brittle hair that can cause breakage. To minimize damage from styling tools, always be sure to use heat-protection, even if you're only applying heat by blow-drying your hair. Our Heat Styling Protection protects up to 220 degrees and is enriched with vegan keratin, MiruStyle X-HP as well as vitamins and minerals that protect the hair fibers while providing care and shine. Also use heating tools with adjustable temperature levels and avoid using high temperatures unless necessary.

5.STRESS

Stress leads to increased production of stress hormones and can affect the hair in many ways. For example, stress can affect the normal cycle of hair growth and make the hair feel thinner because the hair grows slower than usual or enters the resting phase earlier. In some cases, stress can also lead to reduced blood flow, which is crucial for the health of the hair follicles as they supply the nutrients and oxygen needed for hair growth. In addition to reviewing your lifestyle, you can help the hair by massaging the scalp. It speeds up the blood circulation in the scalp and can stimulate hair growth and make the hair feel thicker. Massage the scalp for about 4 minutes a day to start the stimulation of hair growth. Use our Scalp Massage Brush with a comfortable grip handle and soft silicone spikes that are easy to use on both dry and damp hair.

If you experience hair loss, we also recommend Anti Hair Loss Serum, which contains AnaGain™, which is clinically proven to effectively strengthen hair, restore hair density and create optimal conditions for hair growth by extending the hair cycle and stimulating hair growth in depth. Apply twice a day until you achieve the desired result.
