Björn Axén + Iris van Herpen
In the spring of 2020, Björn Axén was in charge of the hair for Dutch haute couture designer Iris Van Herpen’s fashion show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Iris Van Herpen creates organic, futuristic clothes in the borderland between fashion and art. The materials are often innovative, with creative elements such as metal foils and porcelain coatings, while the techniques are traditionally craft-based. Her outfits have been worn by celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Björk and Lady Gaga and Iris has been featured in over 40 exhibitions around the world.
The collaboration between Björn Axén and Iris van Herpen then grew into a design collaboration. Iris created an unique print for Björn Axéns best selling hair spray Megafix, as well as a limited edition of exclusive silk scarves.
Parts of the profits for both products are donated to ”Regnbågsfonden”, and their important work on creating fundamental rights regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
